Belmullet Gaeltacht company heading to Philadelphia on trade mission

SELC, a company that specialises in electronic lighting controls and photocells, is going to Philadelphia as part of Údarás na Gaeltachta’s trade mission at the end of the month. The company is based in the Údarás na Gaeltachta business park in Belmullet. Six Gaeltacht companies along with representatives from Údarás na Gaeltachta will be in the US city from November 20 to 22 on invitation from the Irish-American Business Chamber Network (IABCN). The Gaeltacht companies are taking the opportunity to promote their businesses at an event organised by Údarás na Gaeltachta, the IABCN, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

However all Mayo County Council can do is make a propsal on the figure as the final decision on the ammount will be made by An Bord Planala. The proposed joint venture between ESB Wind Development and Bord na Mona at Owenwinny, Bellacorick is expected to cost in the region of €600 million to construct.
